Named for Natalino’s father, Gino, this is the freshest expression of the estate, but it’s far from simple. It carries the signature San Lorenzo texture, with vibrant notes of green almond, citrus pith, and a sharp, saline kick on the finish. It’s a stunning introduction to the house style and one of the best value whites we carry.

Now in its third generation of family stewardship, the 2024 San Lorenzo “Vigna di Gino” is named in honor of the winemaker’s father, Gino. Made from 100% organically and biodynamically farmed Verdicchio, it’s easy to love and wonderfully expressive. Ripe peach, white blossoms, baking spice, and layers of crisp caramelized sugar unfold with élan before tapering into a dry, zesty lemon finish with a touch of saline minerality.

I'm not sure why this producer has chosen to call this a Marche Bianco but it's definitely 100% Verdicchio. This impressive recent arrival offers up a substantial palate with a pleasant texture, excellent acidity and a nice snap of salinity on the finish. It's organically and biodynamically produced and is especially good with fish, white meats and white sauced pastas.

Notes

San Lorenzo’s "Vigna di Gino" Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi Classico is a vibrant and textured white wine that embodies the essence of the Verdicchio grape from the Marche region. Crafted from 100% estate-grown fruit, this wine offers layers of exotic stone fruit, melon, and citrus, complemented by subtle notes of ground nuts and spice. The palate is balanced by a refreshing acidity, leading to a long, mineral-driven finish. Produced using organic and biodynamic practices, with handpicked fruit and wild yeast fermentation, it reflects a commitment to preserving the vineyard's ecosystem.
