A lush and round nose, stuffed completely full of dried and stewed raisins and figs and a rich blackberry cobbler that got baked slightly too long. The palate is big and rich and expansive, with an impressive balance of lushly sweet fruits and the ripping acidity that almost serves as a backbone for the entire wine. This is a great lesson in keeping an open mind, because when I first saw this come in I was a little dubious but this was such a little treat. This is a crazy good value proposition and I would heartily recommend this to anyone who is looking for a really excellent mid-week bottle of Zin.
