2022 Williams Selyem "Savoy Vineyard" Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
97
James Suckling
Review Date: 01/2024A beautiful floral and raspberry character and an elegant, refined texture make this irresistible. So well balanced, fresh and vivid, offering red cherries, black cherries, savory bay leaves, wild herbs and spearmint. Medium- to full-bodied. So pretty, detailed and agile. Made from older vines on this distinctive property, using a mix of the heritage Martini and Dijon clones.

Notes
Williams Selyem Winery began as a simple dream between two friends, Ed Selyem and Burt Williams, who pursued weekend winemaking as a hobby in 1979 in a garage in Forestville, California, and made their first commercial vintage in 1981. As friends, they decided to make a go of winemaking together in a two-car garage on River Road. The concrete pad outside held the small dairy tanks that they used as fermenters. The rest is history!
