2008 Pulteney 13 Year Old "Signatory Unchillfiltered Collection" 44 month Finish Fresh Sherry Butt Cask Strength Speyside Single Malt Scotch Whisky (750ml)

A highly unusual offering from our friends at Signatory. This gorgeous cask of Pulteney was finished for nearly 4 years or just under a quarter of this whisky's maturation. A beautiful example of what proper secondary maturation can add to an already beautiful malt. Distilled in on May 27th of 2008 and bottled at full cask strength in March of 2022 at 56.2% alc by vol. The little distillery in Wick produces a beautiful ocean driven unpeated style highland malt that very rarely sees high quality sherry, but when it does you often find one of the most delicious and complex whisky comes out. The first 9 years of its life, this barrel was aged in typical refill bourbon before Signatory transferred it to a fresh sherry butt for an additional 44 month of maturation in their warehouse in Pitlochry. A terribly delicious whisky that builds beautiful rich sherry flavors on top of the gorgeous spicy Pulteney malt.
