This stupendous barrel of the famous Speyside distillery is a throwback to a simpler time when dense dark high proof sherry malt could be acquired for a reasonable price. The barrel in question was filled in 2007 into a first fill sherry butt and aged for 17 years in First Fill Oloroso sherry before being dumped and bottled at cask strength. It was not chillfiltered or colored. K&L has been lucky enough to bottle several signatory Glenlivets from this period and they never disappoint. This barrel was not bottled exclusively for K&L but is sold exclusively at K&L in California. Similar barrels are sold throughout the world for $50+ and while they're all excellent, only K&L can offer this incredible price. Expect a dense power nose full of stewed stoned fruit, highland heather, and rich dark chocolate.
