The 2023 Charlouise is supple and caresses the palate. It is light in body with gently refreshing acidity and fine-grained, chalky tannins. One-third whole bunches adds aromatic lift with layers of nutmeg, cherry, cola and a hint of chorizo-like spice. The 14.5% alcohol brings a sense of weighty assuredness, leading to a calm, scented finish of medium length. (RG)
