The 2023 Le Château is a gourmand that's already starting to show a touch of age. Ripe apple, pear and almond notes meet a touch of creamy charm from malolactic fermentation. This was raised in 600-liter barrels and 12 months on lees provided a hint of pastry. It’s rich and substantial with masses of interesting texture and rounded edges. There’s very little classic Sauvignon character here. Chablis lovers will find a lot to like in this style. (RG)
