The 2024 Gamay is aromatically very pretty, with notes of roses and raspberry leaf tea, new leather and licorice, pink peppercorn, sweet tobacco and strawberries. In the mouth, the wine is equally attractive, with bright acidity and chalky tannins. It's not hugely complex, but you won't catch any complaints about that here—this is beautiful. It's so good that it makes me wonder why we don't see more Gamay in Central Otago. (EL)
