A supple red, saturated with black cherry, blackberry, tar and mineral flavors. Dusty tannins coat the gums and compact the finish a little, yet this feels balanced, and the fruit returns in the end. Best from 2027 through 2042.

Note: this cuvée is mostly from La Charmotte and Au Chouillet, with bits and pieces from Aux Saints Jacques, Les Charmois, Les Maladières, Les Chaliots and Les Brûlées plus a few others too small to mention. An exuberantly fresh and even perfumed nose features notes of black pinot fruit, earth and a hint of anise. There is excellent verve and definition to the utterly delicious if not especially dense middleweight flavors that are shaped by relatively fine-grained tannins on the bitter pit fruit-inflected finish. This is an excellent Nuits villages and recommended.*Burghound Top Value!*

A good depth of crimson colour. The bouquet is full of energetic red berry fruit, continuing with impressive energy on to the palate, to finish with slightly furry tannins.

Aromas of orange, dark berries, plums and spices introduce Chevillon's 2022 Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes, a medium to full-bodied, supple and perfumed wine that's charming and sensual, concluding with a saline finish. This cuvée never seems to miss a beat.
Domaine Robert Chevillon is one of my favorite addresses in all of Burgundy, producing hearty, characterful wines that stand the test of time. Old vines, cultivated soils, moderate yields and long macerations at comparatively high temperatures with entirely destemmed grapes are the order of the day at this address, with the Nuits-Saint-Georges Vieilles Vignes seeing some 20% new oak and the premiers crus 30%. Nuits's Tonnellerie Sirugue is the dominant supplier of barrels. (WK)

Email KerryFrom bothers Bertrand and Denis Chevillon, the 2022 Domaine Robert Chevillon Nuits-St-Georges Vieilles Vignes was destemmed and aged 18 months in approximately 30% new oak barrels. So clean and well-defined—red cherry, floral ume (Japanese plum), blood orange, whole green cardamom, and soft sandalwood incense. It's as if the etherial sensations of Kyoto were captured in a red Burgundy. Exquisite.
