Mostly Semillon, the 2023 Lions De Suduiraut Blanc is based on 57% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon, and 13% Sauvignon Gris. It has a juicy, vibrant nose of crushed citrus, tart grapefruit, and minty, mineral-like nuances as well as medium-bodied richness and depth on the palate. It has the pretty, juicy, vibrant style of the vintage.

The 2023 Blanc Sec Lions de Suduiraut is terrific. Bright and vibrant, it delivers notes of ripe pear, ginger, white flowers and chamomile. The 2023 strikes me as a bit richer and creamier than some past editions, but that's not a bad thing for a wine that is basically made to be purchased and consumed within a fairly short time frame. What a delight. (AG)

The 2023 Lions de Suduiraut Blanc Sec races out of the glass with notes of gooseberries, lime leaves, and chalk dust plus suggestions of lemongrass and wet pebbles. The medium-bodied palate is stacked with citrus and mineral flavors supported by a refreshing backbone, finishing on a persistent chalky note. The blend is 57% Semillon, 30% Sauvignon Blanc, and 13% Sauvignon Gris, with pH 3.40. (LPB)

Email AaronAh, after reviewing the reds I get to treat myself to reviewing the Bordeaux whites. This has such a really lovely nose, there's a lot of citrus but also the promise of something a little bit more tropical in the back before the lemon finally comes in. I really love these blends that are a little more Semillon heavy the way it translates to the mouthfeel is so nice, a heavy sort of waxy roundness that makes it feel luxurious. The palate is more grapefruit and white peach, with a really refreshing acidity and just enough pithiness to be interesting and help this pair with that many more dishes. This is just a great $20 bottle of wine, no matter where it's from, and definitely belongs on your summer white wine rotation list which you've definitely made by now.
