2019 Michel Arnould "Anastrophe" Verzenay Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs Champagne

The 2019 Extra Brut Anastrophe Grand Cru is a pure Chardonnay from Verzenay. Twenty percent of the base wines were fermented in oak, and the entire wine went through malolactic conversion and spent five years on lees. Tender lemon is colored with tangerine on the subtle nose. Brightness, tautness and lightness fizz with lemony, creamy vigor on the palate, transporting notions of chalk and creamy solidity. Structure, creaminess and poise unite in this sleek, bright, taut and solid wine. Wonderful length brims with umami. Dosage is 4 grams per liter. Disgorged: October 2024. (AK)
