2023 Common Thread "Escolle Vineyard" Santa Lucia Highlands Gamay
Review Date: 03/2025
There is nothing common about this wine! It is bright and pure and fresh. The nose is refreshing with bright red fruits and floral scents. Very pretty! The palate is crunchy and clean with raspberry and tart boysenberry fruits. There is just little bit of savory spice to keep things even more interesting. Put this one up against any Cru Beaujolais from France!

Email AaronLight and savory nose with soft red fruits, green tea leaves and a handful of potpourri. There's something flighty and appealing about the nose, there's a real freshness present. The palate is bright and fleshy with juicy pomegranate, raspberry and some lingering granite earthiness intermingling with all the fruit. This is such an interesting wine and feels very true to the varietal, not trying to be anything that it isn't. I would have this with a richer chicken dish or maybe even salmon with a heavier sauce. You could definitely throw this in the freezer for a few minutes just to put a slight chill on it if you wanted, it's just a versatile little tasty guy.
