This is a great display of cool-climate Syrah in a region that doesn't grow a ton of it. Dark purple fruit and warm pastry aromas are lifted by violet and pepper on the nose. The palate is layered in pepper, rosemary and smashed berry flavors, with a firm tension wrapping it all up. (MK)

This classically styled Syrah has dark cherries, smoke, savory spice and dark cassis fruit. There is the perfect amount of tannin and clean oak to keep things interesting and pure. It is both traditional and sleek, at once. Compare it to your favorite Northern Rhone!

Dusty blueberries and violets fill the glass with an almost hedonistic aroma, intense and inviting like a seductive perfume, this tingles the senses. There's a roundness and elegance to the fruit on the nose ending with just a touch of green. The palate has some creamy dark fruits and touches of sawdust, in the most appealing of ways, then a lingering finish with some barrel notes and black olive. This is absolutely delicious and a great little boutique wine that showcases how Syrah in the Santa Cruz Mountains handles that kind of loamy forest terroir.
