What a vibrant Bourgogne Rouge! The first wine in a K&L staff tasting of 20 red Burgundies was a harbinger of all the great wines our incredible wine buyer Alex Pross has secured for the 2022 and 2023 vintages. I could not believe how fantastically ALL of the wines showed in this tasting. This 2022 Domaine Alain Michelot Rouge leaps out of the glass with glistening notes of fresh cherry and whispers of violet hard candies, beautifully grounded by autumnal sous bois notes of chanterelle mushroom and damp forest floor after a rain. Serve on its own or alongside a meal—ideally with someone whose company you sincerely enjoy.

From the importer: "Located in the heart of Nuits-Saint-Georges, the Domaine Alain Michelot cultivates 8 hectares of vineyards over Nuits-Saints-Georges and Morey-Saint-Denis. The property dates back to the end of the 19th century around 1880. Four generations of winemakers have contributed to the reputation of this Domaine which has its goals of authenticity and quality. The ageing of the various appellations lasts 18 months in oak barrels (with 25% new barrels). These wines are then sold to fine restaurants, wine stores, individuals and export markets. A benchmark producer of Nuits-Saint-Georges, Alain is assisted by his daughter Elodie, who continued to the tradition."
