60% whole bunch vinification. A pretty crimson colour. An engaging soft red fruit with a floral overtone, quite discreet. The fruit has a dry finish perhaps from the barrel, just lacks a little concentration through the middle. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Nov 2023.

The 2022 Chambolle-Musigny Village, a blend of Bas Doix and Les Echanges, has a lovely bouquet, the 25% new oak neatly integrated, likewise the 60% whole bunches. The medium-bodied palate has smooth tannins and mainly red berry fruit with a dash of white pepper and clove. It may need to develop more complexity towards the finish. Fine, but I hope it gains a bit more personality by the time of bottling.(NM)

Note: from Bas Doix and Aux Echanges. A moderately toasty nose combines notes of violet and plum with those of exotic tea and a hint of crushed fennel. The caressing and succulent medium-bodied flavors flash more obvious minerality on the lingering mocha-inflected finish that is also youthfully austere.
