2021 El Lugar "Greengate Ranch" Edna Valley Pinot Noir

The nose opens with fresh pie cherry and stewed Bing cherries backed by touches of floral before finishing with rich barrel spice. The palate is easy and straightforward with crunchy red fruits, chokecherry, pomegranate and cranberry skin with rosewater and barrel spice. There's a lingering barrel-forward finish that has just enough fruit to remain pleasant long after each sip. Accompanying all this is just enough acidity to make it pair well with most any dish you'd use a more moderately bodied Pinot Noir for, and enough tannin to be able to handle a slightly rich dish as well. A tasty sip for just less than half the original price.
