There are 12 unique clones in this wine, and 65% of it comes from the Double L estate site, with other vineyards, KW, Highlands, Boekenoogen, and Tondré throughout the appellation comprising the rest of it. Fleshy and fruit-driven on the nose, it spends only nine months in 38% new French oak. On the nose, it’s dark fruited with ample spice and even a note of smoky violets. It’s a combination of blackberries and red bramble fruits, with spice predominating on the palate. There is plenty of fruity flesh on the finish, which is lifted by an undeniable salinity.

Medium-bodied, it offers flavors of cherry, cola, and clove, with a thread of acidity throughout. The oak is integrated and subtle, only 38% of it new, allowing the silky texture to speak.
