Honey, citrus, vanilla, and hints of toasted oak and struck match on the nose. Caramelized pineapple, pink grapefruit, green apple on the plate. Butter cookies, vanilla bean, and baking spices linger on the finish—hint of shaved fennel too. A lot going on! Lovely.

This is an example of an excellent dry white wine made from grapes typically destined for white port. An intoxicating delicate white flower, green apple, and saline character is balanced by oak and finishes satisfyingly, bright and clean. Lime notes may be attributed to the schist soil type of the Duoro Superior, as is often found on the other side of Spain in the Priorat (where the calcareous soils are called "llicorel-la").
