Moderately firm reduction pushes the fruit to the background so give this some air first. Otherwise there is good freshness and vibrancy to the delicious, succulent, even seductive, flavors that terminate in a lightly rustic finish where a touch of warmth slowly emerges.

Middling purple, not much bouquet. Fully ripe fruit, a little bit of oak behind, just enough acidity, sweetly seductive, medium length plus. Drink from 2025-2027. Tasted Oct 2023.

The 2022 Bourgogne Côte d'Or comes from six parcels (1.5 hectares in total). The clean, sprightly nose has raspberry and red cherry scents. The palate is pliant on the entry, a little sappier than its peers, with gentle grip on the finish. This is an admirable follow-up to the impressive 2021 last year.(NM)

Email AaronWhile this might be a little light for people seeking to transition from California Pinot Noir to Burgundy, this is absolutely perfect for people who have already found their stride within the region. This is just absolutely gorgeous and really delivers on the QPR that people are looking for in the region. This is a bottle I'd happily hand to anyone who is looking for a bottle that is drinking well already, but is still going to deliver all the elegance that you want from a great Burgundy. The nose is bright with pie cherry, raspberry, cranberry skin, a little bit of red floral in the very background. The palate has great acidity and slightly higher toned fruit, underripe raspberry, pie cherry, and cranberry flesh. This is so good for the price, it's crazy that we haven't already sold out. Don't worry though, we will soon enough, these great Burgundy deals never last long.
Notes
Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "From the bottom of the Volnay commune – Lamboits, still on the ‘right side’ of the road. A more ample and open nose – the fruit without that slightly harder edge of the PTG. Broad and bright – quite incisive starting with a base of grainless tannin – but not drying. Darker fruit and very juicy finishing."(03/2024)
