What do you get from a region that only produces rosé? Why, some of the best rosés in the world of course. The Tavel appellation is world-renowned for making deep, expressive pink wines, the likes of which are not seen outside of this special (and highly specialized) region. The Cave de Tavel cooperative produces half of the AOC's production volume, and their coterie of small growers take meticulous care of their small plots to ensure the best quality wines are produced from their fruit. This "Cuvée Royale" is all from the galets (large rolled stones) terroirs from their growers. It produces a richer and more full-bodied style of Tavel that has the color of a light red wine but the finesse of a beautiful rosé.
