2023 Kinsman Eades "Aisana" Sauvignon Blanc

Decanter
Review Date: 02/2025The Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Bart and Daphne Araujo's Home Ranch in Oakville, offering a fragrant sea grass character with mineral sea spray notes. Medium-bodied on the palate, it showcases bright citrus fruit, apricot, and crushed Marcona almonds, all carried by tremendous length and tension. The wine is hand-picked, whole-cluster pressed, and barrel-fermented, spending approximately eight months in barrel, while the Sémillon component is aged in stainless steel. Aged in 15% new French oak, this is a refined and vibrant expression of the variety. (JC)

Based on 75% Sauvignon Blanc and 25% Semillon, the 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Aisana emerges from Bart and Daphne Araujo’s home vineyard, Rancho Pequeño. This Bordeaux Blanc-styled effort offers beautiful aromas of lemon and honeyed white flowers. Medium-bodied, round, and impeccably balanced, it shows a lush, soft, beautifully textured mouthfeel. Pure, focused, and elegant, with impressive length, it will drink brilliantly over the coming 3-5 years.

The 2023 Sauvignon Blanc Aisana is all fruit from Bart and Daphne Araujo's Rancho Pequeno. It offers a beguiling mix of citrus peel, white flowers, slate and crushed rocks, with just a touch of mid-palate creaminess for breadth. I very much admire the tension and energy here. (AG)

Sleek and juicy, showing a mouthwatering mix of lemon sherbet, lime zest and tangerine notes at the core, with details of lemon thyme and celery salt, plus hints of beeswax, grated ginger and fresh-cut Honeycrisp apple that come across as stylish and powerful. (MW)
