From Pelles and Pellands. Pale lemon colour. The nose is hard to tease out at first. The palate though shows good concentration, with adequate acidity and a feeling of tension. The fruit is just perfectly ripe and extends well at the finish. Rounded in style but racy to finish. Drink from 2027-2031. Tasted Oct 2024.

From 80 year-old vines comes this impeccably made Meursault Vieilles Vignes that is easily the best value we currently have in Meursault. Flinty and fresh this wine leaps from the glass with wet stone and ripe fruit notes. The minerality and acidity both present here and are well framed by 20% new oak that subtle gives the wine direction and verve. This is such a fine Meursault and a steal at less than $70!

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report: "Pellans and Pelle Dessus – 50 and 80-year-old vines High-toned fragrance here – that’s a beautiful invitation. A little more direct, melting, mineral-even, but the middle and finishing flavours are wider and just beautiful. The finish has a little more barrel character but you will hardly notice in 12 months. Beautifully fading in the finish – a simply excellent Meursault – I love it!"(09/2024)
