2022 Goldeneye Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
94
Wine Enthusiast
This wine is a classic expression of Pinot Noir from a consumer favorite. Although the vintage was cool, with some heat spikes and rain, they still managed to produce a dynamic supple, red-berried, crushed herb dynamo, with remnants of oolong black tea on the nose and flavors of strawberry, blood orange zest, and maple with a silky finish.

This Pinot Noir is from three of Goldeneye's estate Anderson Valley sites: Confluence, Gowan Creek, and The Narrows. It spent 16 months in just about 50% new French oak. This Pinot shows ripeness and spice, with aromas of sasparilla and cola spicing up the rich red and black berries. The palate offers tart notes of blood orange and smoky hints of leather and spice, with a coastal saline minerality to the finish. It remains concentrated and rich throughout. (CP)
