Tintype Series is a collaboration between Cathead Distillery and Music Makers Foundation (MMF) in homage to respected blues musicians affiliated with the foundation. Tintype #1 celebrates blues legend Captain Luke, who passed away in 2015 at the age of 87. A founding member of the Music Maker Relief Foundation, Captain Luke was known for his proundly deep voice and showmanship. Each bottle of Old Soul helps support the goals of the MMF, which are to support those carriers of America's oldest roots music traditions. The incredible image of Captain Luke that adorns the front label was created by MMF Founder, Timothy Duffy. This bourbon is a testament to what the deep heat and humidity of Mississippi can do to a bourbon over just 7 years. Aged its entire life at the Cathead distillery in #3 & #4 char white oak, only 16 barrels were deemed worth for the creation of this special bourbon. Distilled from 75% Corn, 21% Rye, 4% Malted Barley and bottled at a cask strength of 120.6 proof, without any additions or filtration of any kind. Expect a delicious nose of deep caramel and dark red fruits. The palate is rich and sweet with dark chocolate and plenty of spice on the back to keep it lively.
