A great masterpiece of finesse. It’s hard to adequately describe the beauty of this dry riesling that marries breathtaking stone fruit aromas with an incredible freshness to create an overwhelmingly elegant and cool whole. Let yourself sink into the deep well of its staggering minerality at the almost endless finish. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

The 2022 Brand Turckheim Riesling is very clear, bright and generous on the finely flinty (or petrichor) nose that indicates ripe and elegant fruit intertwined with cooler herbal and vegetal notes. Round, generous yet also very mineral and tensioned on the palate, with fine yet palatable tannins, this is another powerful and structured Riesling, yet it is finer than the Wineck-Schlossberg. It's bone dry yet rich and very long. The yield was 45 hectoliters per hectare. 13.66% alcohol. Natural cork. There were 12,500 bottles plus larger formats produced. Tasted at the domaine in April 2024.(SR)

The 2022 Riesling Brand Grand Cru is from a granite site. The nose crackles with citrus zest. The palate is so clear, juicy and brilliant. This comes together with luminosity, lightness and ease. Grapefruit zest appears on the finish, revealing more of its aromatic layers. Concentration, tingling freshness, zesty phenolics and a distinct light-footedness make this supremely balanced and juicy. (Bone-Dry)(AK)

Stony minerality keeps pace with the supple, round well of orchard fruit and pink grapefruit, with blanched almond and chamomile details. Starts off silky, almost oily in texture, then is invigorated by candied ginger spiciness and saline bitterness. Full and complex, with good tension. Drink now through 2035.

Notes

95pts Ian d'Agata Wine Review:"Just beautiful. Good full pale yellow. Ginger, nectarine, minerals, spices ad floral nuances on the nose and in the mouth. Very beautiful long and powerful, this is just gorgeous. Drinking window: 2028-2040."(11/2024)
