The 2023er Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Kabinett was made from fruit picked at 84° Oechsle and was fermented and aged in stainless-steel tank down to fruity-styled levels of residual sugar (44 g/l). It offers a beautiful even if still somewhat reduced nose of white flowers, aniseed herbs, melon, smoke, and spices. The wine is gorgeously playful and mouthwatering on the palate and leaves an animating feel in the finish. This is a great expression of Kabinett in the making but one which will need some bottle aging to shed its reduction and deliver its full potential. What a superb wine. 2033-2043."
