This is a fresh, dense sparkling wine with lots of cooked-apple, fresh-lemon and mineral character. Full body, lots of fruit and a delicious finish. This was disgorged in the summer of 2014. A blend of mostly chardonnay with some pinot noir and pinot bianco. Drink now.

Wine Enthusiast

A standard bearer of the region, this wine always delivers. This cuvee opens with aromas of fresh and spiced baked apples, ginger flowers, and a hint of toast. The wine takes a more focused path on the palate with a mineral-driven approach with flavors of preserved lemon peel, Pink Lady apples and finishing with a crushed chalk minerality on the finish. JP

Wine Advocate

Celebrating a big anniversary, the Ca' del Bosco NV Franciacorta Cuvée Prestige Extra Brut 45 Edizione is mostly Chardonnay with smaller parts Pinot Nero and Pinot Bianco. It's a blend of vintage and reserve wines from 2020, 2019 and 2018, and it ages on the lees for 25 months to produce aromas of rich lemon and freshly baked pie crust. The beading is visibly very light and delicate, and the palate is too. This is a very gentle sparkler with medium-plus freshness.

Dense and tight with lots of lemony flavour and tension. (JR)

This is the wine that defines the house and, for many, the entire region. It's not a non-vintage, but a "multi-vintage" cuvée, a complex blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Nero, and Pinot Bianco from over 130 different vineyard plots, blended with 20-30% of reserve wines. Aged for over two years on the lees, this is a masterclass in balance. It’s toasty, citrusy, and creamy, with a fine, persistent mousse. It’s the ultimate calling card for Franciacorta's polished style.

Ca' Del Bosco "Cuvée Prestige" Franciacorta blends 75% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Bianco, and 15% Pinot Nero, all made with remarkable attention to detail. This sleeping beauty rested 25 months on its lees. The final assemblage includes 20–30% reserve wines from top vintages, adding depth and complexity. Subtle notes of pear, quince, and zesty Meyer lemon curd mingle with hints of lightly toasted bread, while a smoky, flinty minerality brings elegance and a serious personality. This is unmistakably not Champagne—and that’s precisely what makes it so intriguing. Consider me a fan!

Notes

Ca' del Bosco's "Cuvée Prestige" Franciacorta is a distinguished sparkling wine from Italy's Lombardy region, embodying the essence of Franciacorta's winemaking tradition. Established in 1976, this cuvée has evolved over decades, reflecting the winery's dedication to quality and innovation. The "Cuvée Prestige" is meticulously crafted from a blend of Chardonnay, Pinot Bianco, and Pinot Nero grapes, sourced from 228 certified organic vineyards. Each grape bunch undergoes a unique washing and drying process to ensure purity. Fermentation occurs over seven months in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, followed by a maturation period of 25 months on the lees, enhancing the wine's complexity and depth. In the glass, this Franciacorta displays a brilliant gold hue with a fine, persistent perlage. The nose is complex, offering aromas of fresh fruits like apple and pear, complemented by floral notes of linden and subtle hints of acacia honey and green tea. On the palate, it is exuberant yet firm, with a mineral focus that leads to a refined finish with a touch of dried almond.
