The 2023er Erdener Treppchen Riesling Auslese was made from 50% botrytized fruit picked at 92° Oechsle and was fermented down to noble-sweet levels of residual sugar (77 g/l). This beautifully white-green-colored wine offers an engaging nose made of mint, bergamot, pineapple, elderflower, apricot blossom, whipped cream, and smoke. It is beautifully balanced on the palate, where zesty and fresh exotic fruits mingle with beautifully creamy elements. The finish is creamy yet also superbly racy and engaging. This gorgeous Auslese could eventually warrant a higher rating as its freshness and cut drive the flavors at maturity. This is very hard to resist. 2033-2048."
