Guy Farge is a third generation grape grower. But, he is late to the game, so to speak, as a vigneron, having bottled his first cuvée from his own grapes in 2007. Nonetheless, his meticulous and committed approach in the vineyard (where all great wine begins) carries through to his winemaking. With his son, Thomas, running the business side of the domaine, Guy is making incredibly expressive wines from his 22 hectares spread over St-Joseph, Condrieu, Cornas, and Saint-Péray. This wine, his entry-level Syrah, carries a lifted freshness to go along with the characteristic blackberry, black currant, and red cherry notes. Despite the vibrant fruit, the wine also brings a rugged and savory side with notes of both white and black pepper rounding out the profile. It's a classically approachable Syrah that's made to impress a broad range of taste preferences.
