The 2023 Chardonnay Trout Gulch Vineyard is a zippy, taut, grippy white that takes no prisoners as it busts down the front door. Summer melon, lemon zest, pink salt and crushed rocks run through, finishing with an undeniable grip that is absolutely reflective of this site. Nutty complexity builds on the finish. I’d be tempted to re-taste this with a little bit of bottle age in hopes of it putting on some more weight—it's just a baby today, but the site shines through. (BN)
