Notes
Castello La Leccia's "Bruciagna" Chianti Classico Gran Selezione is a distinguished expression of Sangiovese from the esteemed Bruciagna vineyard, situated at an elevation of 500 meters with south to southwest exposure. The 20-year-old vines thrive in soils rich in alberese and galestro, contributing to the wine's unique character. The winemaking process begins with manual harvesting in September and October, ensuring only the finest grapes are selected. After destemming and gentle crushing, the berries undergo fermentation in temperature-controlled steel tanks, followed by a pre-fermentative cryomaceration for 24 hours. The wine is then aged for 18 months in French oak barrels and barriques, allowing it to develop complexity and depth.
