Reviewed June 2024This is aromatically similar to the straight Rully with the addition of a smoky component. There is a bit more volume to the rich, succulent and seductively textured medium-bodied flavors that display excellent punch that carries over to the similarly persistent finale where a touch of citrus-tinged acidity maintains the balance. This also offers fine quality for the appellation.

From purchased fruit, the 2022 Rully La Raboursé 1er Cru offers pretty pressed white flowers and touches of white tea on the nose. It’s not intense yet well-defined, developing a waxy tincture with aeration. The palate is well-balanced, with a lilting entry and touches of pineapple and tangerine. It’s slightly spicier on the finish than the Rully Village. Very fine.(NM)
