2021 Girolamo Russo "a Rina" Etna Rosso
94
James Suckling
Plenty of citrus, orange peel, honey and beeswax with some pumice and volcanic soil character. Medium body, with firm and integrated tannins that are energetic and integrated. Very pretty now but even better in three or four years. Drink or hold.

Notes
Girolamo Russo "A Rina" Etna Rosso is a remarkable red wine made from Nerello Mascalese and Nerello Cappuccio grapes grown on the volcanic slopes of Mount Etna in Sicily. Known for its elegance and finesse, "A Rina" delivers aromas of red berries, cherry, and floral notes, with earthy undertones and a hint of spice. The palate is medium-bodied, with fine tannins, fresh acidity, and a mineral-driven finish, showcasing the unique terroir of Etna. It pairs well with roast meats, game, and mushroom dishes.
