Aromas of huckleberries and blueberries, dried herbs, powdered graphite, tangerine oil, and sweet clove jump from the glass. Tight, crunchy tannins and elevated acidity complete the wine. The 2021 Pinot Noir Laurène is especially complex and expressive. Pomegranate, rhubarb and strawberry are accented by wafts of rosewater, tar, blood orange and lavender. The medium-bodied palate features generous, nuanced flavors. It’s structured by chalky tannins and fireworks of fresh acidity and has a very long, nuanced finish. It's a great candidate for the cellar.

The Drouhin estate's flagship Pinot Noir is a barrel selection comprised of fruit from their Dundee Hills estate. Perfectly perfumed with classic Willamette Valley berries, forest floor and notes of singed rose petals and dried lavender. The palate shows dusty bramble fruits, concentrated tart blackberries and a freshness alighting from muddled mint leaves. A melange of five spice, smoky clove and forest-inspired minerality carries this wine, its elegance and structure give a hint to its ageability.
