The 2021 Groth Oakville 'Reserve' Cabernet Sauvignon is made in a classic style and opens with enticing aromas of ripe black cherries and plums, beautifully accented by notes of tobacco, loam, spices and hints of dark chocolate. On the palate, it reveals a full-bodied, well-structured character with velvety, polished tannins that lend it a refined and well-defined texture. It displays notable depth with a wonderful combination acidity and minerality that highlight the ripe fruit, earthy, spicy characteristics that all build up to the long finish. Textbook notes of cedar and vanilla gently cosset black cherries and hints of dried herbs. It's full-bodied, creamy and lush in texture, showing more concentration, tannin and length than the winery's regular Oakville Cabernet. (JC)
