Review Date: 12/2022The 2021 Saint Joseph Les Granits, which hit a healthy 13.6% natural alcohol, sports a deep ruby/purple hue as well as classic, old school Saint Joseph notes of darker fruits, smoked herbs, earth, and crushed stone. It's medium-bodied, with ripe, polished tannins and nicely integrated acidity.

Notes
John Livingstone Learmonth The Cradle of the Rhone: "(cask) dark robe; inky depth on the nose, black cherry, licorice, smouldering sparkiness, cordite. The palate is tight, with a firm gras that sits squarely at its centre, has a solid spine all through, flanked by compact gras, black fruits. Licorice and rocky assertion show up towards the finish, almost like a Mourvèdre influence. The interest here is high, and it’s stylish in the making, is well assured and has great persistence. It’s very close-knit, will gradually unfurl, peep open. It has a lot of character. From 2026-27. 2045-47 ." (10/2022)
