This bottling is usually very ripe, but in 2021, cool weather ensured a lovely, fresh, crisp edge to the apricot aromas along with an herbal, almost tarragon note on the finish. There is great elegance and purity, and a finish that lingers attractively. The grapes come from a 0.3ha holding in the village of Marsannay where the oldest vines were planted in 1932. Crushed and pressed in a vertical press, then fermented in large, older casks before bottling with minimal sulphur. (CC)
