The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes is, as usual, more reserved at this early stage. Exhibiting notions of plums, dark berry fruit, sweet spices and toasted bread, it's medium to full-bodied, deep and seamless, with bright acids and a long, resonant finish.(WK)

Note: from Aux Communes, Les Jacquines and Rouges du Dessus. A more floral and slightly spicier nose reflects notes of black cherry, dark currant and top note of kirsch. The velvety, round and delicious medium weight flavors are denser but not nearly as refined as the lingering and slightly warm finish flirts with rusticity. This is a very good villages but the La Cabotte would appear to have a slight edge.*Burghound Outstanding!*

The 2020 Vosne-Romanée Vieilles Vignes, which contains a little whole bunch, has a tightly-wound bouquet with dark berry fruit, incense and touches of sous-bois. The palate is medium-bodied with an edgy, peppery entry. Quite structured for a Vosne-Romanée, the finish is reminiscent of a Morey-Saint-Denis.(NM)
