Review Date: 11/2022

The son of former broker Tim Marshall, has taken over the vineyard in 2022 but has sold Jean-Nicolas the grapes again. A pale but fine crimson rose colour. The bouquet is very Chambolle but in particularly elegant style, floral but with a mineral note. Starts gently then kicks on very well on the palate. This has the best length of any wine in the cellar thus far, very impressive alongside the fine boned nature of the wine in the mouth. Drink from 2027-2035.

Burghound

Review Date: 01/2023
Note: from 30+ year old vines Producer note: Jean-Nicolas Méo stresses that for his négoce wines he does everything as though these were domaine wines, which is to say all of the vineyard work and harvesting plus of course the vinification and élevage duties. See the Domaine comments above for more general information about the 2021 vintage and importer information. Tasting note: A discreet application of wood sets off very pretty and airy aromas of plum, wild cherry and crushed fennel. The super-sleek, intense and wonderfully defined middleweight flavors seem to be built on a base of pungent minerality while delivering excellent length on the balanced and lightly austere finale. This needs better depth, but more should progressively develop with time in bottle. *Burghound outstanding!*
