The 2021 Domaine Trapet Clos Prieur is another stellar premier cru in the making. The bouquet is dep and complex, showing a bit more red fruit in its constellation than most in the lineup this year, as it delivers a mix of red and black cherries, plums, cigar wrapper, a very complex base of soil tones, gamebird, sweet stems, coffee bean and a gentle foundation of new oak. On the palate the wine is deep, full-bodied, complex and very elegant in profile out of the blocks, with a fine core, fine-grained tannins and a long, focused and seamlessly balanced finish.
