Crimson ruby. A high class delicious red fruit nose which expands very well with a fresh vigour and some white pepper to finish. Quality raspberry fruit at optimum ripeness all the way through to a beautifully balanced finish. White stones give the freshness while the southerly aspect ensures that the fruit will ripen.

Distinctly cool and restrained aromas include those of red currant, cherry, wet stone and pretty floral nuances. The sleek yet succulent medium weight flavors flash even more evident minerality along with good definition on the dusty and more overtly austere finale that offers just a bit more overall depth and persistence.

THIS RED BURGUNDY IS CURRENTLY ON K&L'S OPEN CELLAR TASTING MENU! The epic 2022 Burgundy vintage is one of those rare years that produced delectable wines that are ready to enjoy now and will age and evolve for a long time to come. Don't be afraid to try wines from less traveled regions like Marsannay. Domaine Bart, one of our Direct Imports, makes wines of depth and complexity that won't bust the bank. The 2022 Domaine Bart Marsannay is sourced exclusively from the La Montage vineyard at the top of a south-facing hill with a 3-12% slope, shallow soil with limestone rocks. The result is a wonderfully aromatic Pinot Noir layered with light red fruit -- strawberry, raspberry, cherry, and plum. Chiseled body and structure, and a profile that gives you the best of both worlds -- fruit and earth - finishing with a long savory mushroom note.

Notes

Bill Nanson Burgundy Report :"Less open yet fresh and fine – beautifully airy in the glass. Hmm, broad, saline and finishing with small waves of red-fruited flavour – another to be patient with but 3 years will leave you in good shape…" (01/2024)
