Relatively strong reduction flattens the nose and renders it impossible to assess. There is fine detail and punch to the sappy and attractively textured flavors that are underpinned by moderately firm structure and bright acidity on the lingering finish where a touch of herbal tea appears. I like the delivery though this will need to develop more depth to merit the top end of my projected range.*Burghound Top Value!*

Bright cherry and currant flavors are the hallmarks of this firm red. Accents of earth and smoke add depth as this tightens up on the lingering finish. Best from 2017 through 2027. (BS)

The never ending search for affordable, aged red Burgundy never ends and luckily we have uncovered two great drinking values! Domaine Charles Audoin is one of the top Estates in Marsannay and many of their vineyards will soon have 1er Cru status so being able to get wines of this quality and depth for under $50 with 10+ years of age is a treat! The Marasanny Clos de Jeu is a wonderful wine with ripe red fruit, spice and supple tannins. The balance here is impeccable and the wine is all pretty fruit and spice notes. A great aged red Burgundy for under $50.
