Pretty pure fruit to this with black cherry, black berry and light chocolate aromas. The palate is full and focused with very polished tannins and a long, long finish. Best after 2027.

The Caparzo 2019 Brunello di Montalcino offers lively aromas of cherry cola, forest berry and dried cranberry that really pop on the bouquet. The dimension and latitude of the wine is impressive, especially in terms of mouthfeel, and with this bottle you're set for near and medium-term drinking. However, what works best in my opinion is the wine's balanced and much-needed freshness. You get great quality over an ambitious release of 160,000 bottles.

A rich ruby color, the 2019 Brunello Di Montalcino offers a lovely bouquet of medicinal herbs, dried redcurrants, roses, and orange zest. Approachable from the start, the palate is medium-bodied, with lovely freshness and purity, angular tannins, and a clean finish. It is a very well-done wine from Caparzo that will be best enjoyed over the next 6-8 years. I really like these wines for their value, and they’re great restaurant offerings.

Delicate aromas suggesting graphite, crushed mint and iris take shape on the 2019 Brunello from Caparzo. Smooth and sleek, the linear palate features juicy Morello cherry, raspberry, star anise and the same graphite nose as the nose. Polished tannins offer lithe support. It’s already surprisingly accessible but will also offer another decade of pleasure.

This multi-vineyard viticulture method gives this brunello Brunello structure and balance, making it approachable in its youth but aging gracefully for 15-20 years. Notes

Caparzo Brunello di Montalcino 2019 is a classic expression of Sangiovese from one of Montalcino’s most respected estates. Caparzo, known for producing wines that combine tradition with approachability, sources fruit from multiple vineyards across the region, giving this Brunello a balanced and nuanced character. The vineyards, located at various altitudes and exposures, contribute to the wine's complexity, showcasing the diverse terroirs of Montalcino. The 2019 vintage was marked by favorable conditions, allowing the grapes to achieve perfect ripeness while maintaining bright acidity. After fermentation, the wine is aged for around 36 months in a mix of large Slavonian and French oak barrels, which adds structure and elegance without overpowering the purity of the fruit. On the nose, this Brunello di Montalcino reveals inviting aromas of ripe cherries, plums, and wild berries, alongside subtle notes of tobacco, leather, and Mediterranean herbs. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with well-integrated tannins, vibrant acidity, and flavors of red fruit, spices, and a touch of earthiness. The finish is long and smooth, with a refined balance between fruit and oak.
