Fermented with 20% whole-cluster, this Pinot Noir gives so much depth and minerality, all at around $35. Approachable and lively now but still serious enough to lay down, aromatics of wild mint, spicy blood orange zest and a serious saline mineral streak. The palate is electric; red fruits and spice dance across a streak of saline minerality. Spicy red plum skin, white pepper and crushed ripe raspberries all play well with one another, finishing with herbaceous raspberry leaf and sea salt.

Int'l Wine Review

The 2022 Eola-Amity Pinot Noir from Hundred Suns saw 11 months in neutral French oak barrels and was fermented with a combination of destemmed fruit, partial whole cluster, and whole cluster. Gifting a light to medium ruby core with a neon blue rim, the juicy core of mountain wild blueberries, sliced rhubarb, milk chocolate, sweet cloves, and black tea is everything you want from a bottle of Pinto Noir. Grippy tannins and racy acidity create a finish that goes on and on. Just 255 cases produced.

Jeb Dunnuck

A rich red color, the 2022 Pinot Noir Old Eight Cut is fruity and floral with notes of ripe raspberry preserve, sweet earth, crushed flowers, and candied flowers. Medium-bodied and ripe with plush, sweet tannins, it has a pleasing gravelly touch of mineral texture on the finish. It’s very pretty and ripe now, although it should hold on over the coming 5-7 years.

Notes

Year in year out this is one of the best Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs out there for the money. Hundred Suns' "Old Eight Cut" combines an array of incredible vineyards scattered across the region all meticulously blended together to give the panoramic view of a given season through the lens of Pinot Noir. This wine will embarrass many peoples $80 single vineyard wines.
