Review Date: 01/2014Here too there is enough wood to notice on the notably ripe and fresh aromas of black cherry, plum, pungent earth and abundant sauvage scents. The big, rich and full-bodied flavors possess an overt muscularity along with plenty of power on the extract-rich, intense and very firmly structured finale. As it always is this is rustic and austere and will need a minimum of 10 years to arrive at its peak but 15 will be better. The domaine almost never misses with this wine and the 2013 is potentially great. *Burghound Don't Miss Outstanding!*

Like the Pruliers, the 2013 Vaucrains chez Chevillon is very, very elegant out of the blocks this year, without sacrificing any of the depth and intensity that makes this one of Nuits St. George’s greatest premier crus. The outstanding nose offers up a blend of plums, black cherries, raw cocoa, nutskins, fresh herbs, a very complex base of soil tones, pigeon and vanillin oak. On the palate the wine is pure, full-bodied and tightly-knit, with a rock solid core of fruit, excellent transparency, ripe, firm tannins and a very long, vibrant and perfectly balanced finish. All this great, great wine needs is time. (Drink between 2025-2075)

Deep, bright red. Brooding aromas of black fruits, bitter chocolate and menthol hint at superripeness. Less fruity and floral than the Saint-Georges and Cailles but fatter, sweeter and larger-scaled, boastig considerable power to the raspberry, earth and chocolate flavors. Saline, dense, classically dry wine with rich tannins that saturate the entire palate. This appears to need several more months of élevage.(ST)

The colour is a pretty red with a beginning of evolution. The nose has the stylish elegance of a class vineyard well made, with a little touch of premium oak. A little toast alongside the fruit at the back, easy going and smartly made. Drink from 2023-2028.
