Review Date: 11/2021A lovely wine, with a high-toned strawberry and pomegranate fruit, alongside a distinct mineral note. This is closer in style to Gevrey than to Morey and is made from purchased fruit from this village lieu-dit that lies on the opposite side of the Nationale from Chapelle-Chambertin. The fermentation is done with 30% whole clusters and is aged in 20% new casks. (CC)

The perfumed essence of red pinot fruit and earth wisps is trimmed in a hint of the sauvage. The delicious, vibrant and equally well-detailed middle weight flavors flash a touch of youthful austerity on the lingering finish that is, in the context of what is typical for the vineyard, relatively refined. A grape purchase which they pick themselves. Red purple, quite discreet, relatively savoury from the location but with a bit more fruit sweetness from the vintage. Together these aspects make an agreeable Gevrey.

The 2020 Gevrey-Chambertin Regnard (négoce) bursts with aromas of plums, peonies, warm spices and soil tones. Medium to full-bodied, velvety and concentrated, it's charming and vibrant, with powdery tannins and a long, sapid finish. (WK)
