Burghound
Reviewed April 2021A brooding and slightly grumpy nose reluctantly offers up an even more deeply pitched nose of cassis, black cherry, warm earth and spicy top notes. There is impressive richness and volume to the sappy and caressing yet powerful medium-bodied flavors that culminate in a beautifully long if ever-so-slightly rustic finish. This is one of those wines that is sufficiently structured to reward extended cellaring yet it's so rich that it should be accessible after only 5 or so years. *Outstanding*

Wine Advocate
The 2019 Beaune 1er Cru Les Grèves wafts from the glass with aromas of plums, red berries, sweet spices and potpourri. Medium to full-bodied, ample and charming, with lively acids, melting tannins and a pretty, giving profile, it will drink well with minimal bottle age. (WK)

Vinous
The 2019 Beaune Grèves 1er Cru has a fulsome bouquet with vivacious wild strawberry and cranberry, and impressive mineralité and complexity. Très Grèves! The palate is medium-bodied with saturated, pliant tannins and gentle grip. This fine-boned Grèves shows focus and precision through to the finish and has an assiduous whole bunch inclusion (50%). Harmonious and well-crafted, this is an exemplary Beaune.

Decanter
Blessed with notes of ripe orchard fruit and a slightly tropical note. The texture is a bit soft but the finish is satisfyingly long. Produced with fruit from Meursault, Puligny and Chassagne, the grapes are gently pressed and fermented in a combination of large and small casks, with a small percentage of new oak. After a year in cask, they are racked once prior to bottling. (CC)
