Review Date: 06/2023Not yet bottled, the 2022 Chaleur Blanc will be terrific, and this wine is consistently one of the finest Bordeaux Blanc blends outside of Bordeaux. Based on 69% Sauvignon Blanc and the rest Semillon, aging in 42% new oak, it has a terrific sense of minerality as well as bright pineapple and honeyed grapefruit aromatics, medium body, a focused, tight, racy mouthfeel, and a great finish. It’s going to benefit from a year or two of bottle age.

The 2022 Chaleur Blanc, 69% Sauvignon Blanc and 31% Sémillon, wafts up with a spicy bouquet of ripe peach, lemon zest and complementing hints of vanilla bean. It's silky and round, with a measured inner sweetness that gives way to sour melon and a tinge of sweet mint. This cleans up beautifully—crisp, refreshing and long, with lingering hints of young kiwi. The Chaleur Blanc is fermented in 90% French oak (60% new) and 10% stainless steel. Aged seven months on lees. (EG)
