2021 Zind-Humbrecht Clos Windsbuhl Riesling Alsace
95
James Suckling
Review Date: 03/2023A noble wine that’s extremely subtle and delicate, the power seriously underplayed, almost hiding in the many corners of this shy beauty. Super-elegant interplay of ripe acidity, medium body and silkiness. Great aging potential. From biodynamically grown grapes. Drink or hold.

Notes
96pts Ian d'Agata Terroir Sense: "Luminous straw-green. Slightly reduced nose at first, then opens with aeration. Enters rich and ripe with sweet, precise flavours of apple, passionfruit and eau de vie nuances that are long, very pure and clean. Never the most powerful wine in Zind-Humbrecht’s portfolio, but such race and distinction are both lovely and rare. Lemon jelly and minerals and even violet echo long on the very persistent, crystalline finish that showcases repeating nuances of passionfruit. Drinking window: 2028-2040." (10/2023)
