Review Date: 12/2020The 2019 Bourgogne Aligoté Auvonnes Au Pépé comes from mainly marl soils. Lifted peach and pawpaw notes on the nose that is nicely defined and focused. The palate is well balanced with good weight, clean and tensile with lovely pink grapefruit and nectarine notes zinging around on the finish. Excellent. (NM)

Aligoté from a 0.1ha vineyard owned by Pataille’s grandfather, planted in the 1930s on east-facing slopes. The old Aligoté Doré ripened extremely well, providing an intriguing mix of bright citrus and herbal notes, touched with honey. Aged in large old casks, the texture of the wine is hedonistically rich and lingering on the palate. Drinking Window 2021 - 2026. (CC)

A much more restrained nose is all but mute and only grudgingly reveals its aromas of green apple and grapefruit scents. The caressing yet intense medium weight flavors offer a step up in volume and concentration while coating the palate in dry extract on the lemony and more complex finale. Once again, this is excellent and recommended. *Burghound Outstanding Top Value!*
